Keeper Alexandra reports
Starting in a good team spirit, U.S. Dames 2 met for an amazing brunch that was hold under the motto ‘no-one is allowed to overeat’ on Sunday morning. After pancakes, Goat-Cheese-Rucola-Salad and Fitgurl Choco Ballen, a digestion-break and the warm up, we faced our opponents S.V. Zeeburg DS 3. During the training matches, we struggled a bit with finding us as a team. But this day, we played well together from the beginning and on. The concentration was high, what was necessary in the face of a much more experiences opponent and some situations of inappropriate aggressive defense against our wing players. The first half ended with a result of 11 - 10 in favor of U.S.
During the last 30 minutes, willpower and mental strength was an important and maybe the decisive quality. Over a long period of time, hardly any goal was shot on both sides. In the end it was Zeeburg DS 3 that lost temper and therefore, the match. U.S. Dames 2 won with a final result of 19 - 16. This win made every drop of sweat during each training be worth it. We are willing to continue in this vein and you are warmly welcomed to share and support us at our next match on the 4th of November, 7 pm in De Pijp against Westside DS 3.
